Yum's Beauty Tips

Hello Roses,
I feel that its necessary that all women have a special arsenal of make-up, hair, and nail care go to methods and tips. So lets start with face.

Your face is the first thing people see, so why not enhance your natural beauty? My first real purchase of make-up was  MAC's Mineralize Loose Powder. I bought it not because I had bad skin, but because I wanted my complexion to look even. However, if you have blemishes that you are conscious about I'd recommend purchasing a concealer first. I like MAC's Studio Finish Concealer. I also suggest you go to a make-up counter for these 1st purchases until you understand and know how to apply and pick your own cover-ups and powders. Always ask questions on the best way to apply your purchase as well. Lastly, for concealer I think my finger tips are the best way to apply.

Now as far as hair, I am natural and I have been for about 6 years, but I do know a thing or two about managing relaxed hair as well. For both types of hair, moisturizing and deep conditioning are so important. When I was relaxed I used Motions Critical Repair and Protection for deep conditioning. For moisturizing I recommend a light weight oil for scalp and hair for sheen and softness like Kemi Oyl.
Since I'm natural I prefer Herbal Essence Hello Hydration Conditioner, but remember with being natural all products don't work on every one's hair so don't be afraid to experiment. Now moisturizing natural hair, you must remember its important to have damp hair then apply your moisturizer on top to retain the water and softness. I use Shea butter or Elasta QP Mango Butter Moisturizer. For both hair types, always protect your hair before using heat, always de-tangle/comb from the ends to the root with a wide tooth comb, and wrap your hair up at night so your ends are protected.

And nails. I have such an affinity for beautifying my finger nails and toe nails. Always use a base coat. It protects your nail from discoloration from the polish and also provides a base for your polish to adhere to for longer wear. I love Orly's Bonder Rubberized Base Coat. Always use a Top Coat. My Favorite is Seche Vite ( I did a previous post about that Here). Always file nails with a stiff emery board and buff nails for an even surface. And moisturize your cuticles by gently rubbing them. I do this when I get out the shower. This stimulates growth and keeps your cuticles from drying and cracking.

If you all have any questions feel free to leave them in the comment box. I'd like to know what types of posts you are interested in. Until next time ;) !
