DAILY PRAYERS: Thursday, February 14, 2013
Father God, we humble ourselves and come before you today with prayers of confession. Father, we confess by name those things that we did, said and thought that were not pleasing to you. Father, we ask forgiveness for the sins of commission – the things we’ve done, that you told us not to do, and for the sins of omission – the things that you told us to do, that we’ve left undone. Please touch our hearts. We ask Lord, that you would cleanse us, purge us and purify us from the inside out. Please touch our will, our motives, our attitude and our emotions. May we be transformed and may our lives be pleasing unto you. We thank you in advance for having your way. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.", "We fast and pray today with a heart of thanksgiving and praise. Dear Lord, we thank you for bringing us through another year, another month, another day, another hour. In spite of the circumstances that may face us at home, on our jobs, at school, in our finances, or in our relationships, we choose to give you praise. For there is no other like you and you are worthy of all of the glory and praise. You are all seeing, all knowing, merciful, gracious and so kind. Your name is matchless and your love is boundless. You are a keeper, a protector, a provider, a healer, a counselor and a way maker; Father truly there is none like you. “I will praise you with my whole heart; before the ‘gods’ I will sing your praise. I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and faithfulness.” (Psalm 138:1-2) Thank you for every blessing and for your everlasting love. We made it past day one!! We have 39 more days to go. Today I started my morning off with a glass of cranberry juice and some fried potatoes. i have carrots as well as salsa and tortilla chips to snack on. For lunch I am having a spinach salad with cucumbers and strawberrys. For dinner brown rice and beans. Last night I had a bad headache so i went to bed around 9pm. Whenever you feel hungry pray and drink water or 100% juice. If that doesn't help eat fruit or veggie as a snack in between meals.

Good Afternoon. I will be partaking in the Daniel fast. The purpose of Christian fasting is to grow and become closer with God. All this is done will cleansing your body and soul of unnatural, self-indulgent like beverages and food. A quote I will be going by this fast season will be, "Eat to live, not live to eat." During fasting your sole focus is to be on God, not on the fleshly things of the world.
Often people hear fast and automatically think I'm starving myself. You are allowed to eat as much unprocessed fruits and veggies as you want. 100% juices, water, rices, beans and potatoes. Basically don't consume anything that once had a mother. No meat, dairy, unnatural seasoning or sweeteners.
I will be tracking my progression and consumption of food. I will also post the Prayer for the day that my Pastor Jeffery A Johnson from Easter Star Baptist Church gives us. For those of you that are joining me God bless you and May God give you the strength and the will power.
Daily Prayer:
Day 1 Wednesday, February 13
Father, today, I join with my church family to begin this 40-day journey of fasting and prayer. We seek you individually and corporately for strength and power from the Holy Spirit to sustain us during this season. Father, we ask that you will help us keep our commitment, and please give us a joyful heart as we push things aside to draw closer to you. We trust you Lord, and the plans that you have for our lives. We walk by faith and not by sight. We stand in anticipation of all that you will manifest in us, through us, and in the life of this ministry. We thank you in advance, In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
Today's food: (Breakfast) 1 orange, small zip lock bag of grapes, glass of water
snack: whole grain cherrios, 1 glass of water
(lunch) - 3 or 4 pineapple chunks, handful of grapes, 2 oranges, 1 glass of 100% grape juice
snack: orange and more grapes
I havent eaten dinner yet but I am going to eat fried potatoes with green peppers and onions with a fruit slushy of natural peaches, oranges and lemon juice.
I will also snack on carrots.
My Head is to the sky waiting on them spaceships to pass by.
Spending a buck
fifty on material things just so I can look fly.
