80's baby but 90's raised me.
I was talking to my bff about what happend to good music and how i wish i was a teenager in the late 70's early 80's. I just feel like that was one of the best era's of music. Hell even the early 90's. Music these days is so fuckin stupid. Plies-- he gets on my nerves, Ne-yo love his songs but hate the fact he thinks he can dance when he cant, and i cant stand looking at them ugly lips, Rappers- everyone is on the damn vocoder /auto tune shit.(your not zapp and roger!) sooo annoying too! i cant listen to ron brows entire pop champagne song without wanting to insert my finger down my throat. It just seems like anyone can get a record deal. [shameful]
Well luckily i was blessed with parents who love music and always had artist like: Luther, Stevie, Bob Marley, Roger and Zapp, The Isley Brothers, The O'Jays, The SOS band, LL Cool J, Anita Baker etc. blasting from our Cadalliac, record player, 8 track and cassette player. I've grown to believe im a music head. I love it. So here are some of my favorite songs. Believe it or not they are still in rotation for me.
De La Soul - me, myself and I
Digable Planets - Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like Dat)
Bob Marley - redemption song
The Roots - You Got Me
Outkast - So Fresh So Clean
Lauryn Hill - Sweetest Thing
I could post the entire miseducation of Lauryn Hill album/ Fugees- The Score.
Ice Cube-Today Was A Good Day
R Kelly - Sweet Sadie
Common - I Used To Love H.E.R
Shai - If I Ever Fall In Love
Arrested Development - Tennessee
Kelly Price - As We Lay
Mariah Carey - Always Be My Baby
En Vogue - Giving Him Something He Can Feel
Janet Jackson - Any time, any place
Salt N Pepa - Shoop
Guy - Let's Chill
Erykah Badu- Next Life Time
Carl Thomas- Summer Rain
Xscape - Understanding
Skee-Lo - I Wish
Jodeci - Forever My Lady
Mokenstef- He's mine
Changing Faces - Foolin' Around
